Uncle Dougie's Sweet n' Spicy Bison Balls are a savory and spicy twist on the traditional meatball appetizer. Loaded with protein and lean–these are definitely party material-great with cold beer and football action!
These can also be made days in advance, refrigerated or frozen, and then warmed and served from a crock-pot. The secret here is the sauce-unlike the typical holiday meatball appetizer, it's wowza-spicy, sweet and snappy!
2 lbs Ground Bison (We like High Plains Bison)
1 Cup Chopped Onion
3/4 Cup Egg Whites
1 Cup Gluten-Free Bread Crumb Batter
Yield about 40 or so 1" round Sweet n' Spicy Bison Balls
Conventional Oven to 450˚
When the oven is ready, cook the Bison balls for about 30 minutes, turning once they start to get a nice brown glaze. We recommend then lowering the heat and finish to desired doneness.
Once the meat is well browned on all sides, remove from the oven, toss on 10oz. Uncle Dougie’s Sweet N’ Snappy BBQ combined with 2oz Uncle Dougie’s Wicked Good Wing Marinade and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Note: These Gluten Free, Sweet n' Spicy Bison balls refrigerate or freeze well and reheat great!!!
